Ubud Art
Our journey begins in Tohpati Village, Bali’s famous Batik Weaving Center. Batik is a traditional art form of fabric painting, where skilled artisans create stunning patterns using wax dots and lines to resist dyes. Visiting this village gives you a glimpse into one of Indonesia’s most refined and culturally significant art forms. Located just 12 km from Kuta, Tohpati offers a sensory experience filled with vibrant colors, intricate designs, and the authentic scent of hand-dyed textiles.
Bali Coffee Plantation
Next, we visit the Bali Coffee Plantation, one of the island’s unique agrotourism spots nestled in the cool mountain region. Here, local farmers cultivate various coffee types, mainly Arabica and Robusta, using creative and sustainable methods. You’ll also learn about the world’s most exclusive and expensive coffee — Luwak Coffee — made from beans that pass through the digestive system of civet cats. Visitors can sample freshly brewed coffee while enjoying the lush plantation surroundings.
Celuk Village (Gold and Silver Craft)
Then, we stop at Celuk Village, renowned for its skilled gold and silver craftsmen. The artisans here produce intricate jewelry — rings, bracelets, necklaces, earrings, and brooches — blending modern designs with traditional Balinese artistry. Their creations are highly sought after both locally and internationally, making Celuk a must-visit destination for art and jewelry lovers.
Mas Village (Wood Carving Art)
Our next destination is Mas Village, located in Ubud, Gianyar Regency. This village is recognized as a center of wood carving art, blending humanism and naturalism into each masterpiece. Home to world-famous sculptors such as the late Ida Bagus Nyana and his son Ida Bagus Tilem, Mas Village showcases countless art galleries and workshops along the road. Visitors can watch craftsmen at work, surrounded by beautiful rice fields — a perfect harmony of art and nature.
Batuan Village (Balinese Paintings)
Finally, we visit Batuan Village, well-known for its traditional Balinese paintings and strong artistic culture. Situated between Denpasar and Ubud, Batuan is a vibrant hub for art, dance, and traditional Balinese wood panel carvings. Visitors can explore studios, meet talented local painters, and purchase authentic artworks to bring home as unique Balinese souvenirs.
