Bedugul Temple Tour – Explore Bali’s Sacred Temples and Scenic Highlands
Our journey begins with a visit to Taman Ayun Temple, located in Mengwi Village, Badung Regency. This royal temple was built in 1634 by the King of Mengwi. The surrounding ponds symbolize the ocean, creating a serene and majestic atmosphere. Next, we’ll head to Lake Bratan, home to the famous Ulun Danu Beratan Temple, one of Bali’s most iconic water temples set against the stunning backdrop of the Bedugul mountains.
Afterward, we’ll continue to a Bali Coffee Plantation, where you can sample authentic Balinese coffee and the world-renowned Luwak Coffee. Learn how local farmers cultivate and process coffee beans in the cool mountain climate.
Our final stop is Jatiluwih Rice Terraces, a UNESCO-recognized landscape known for its breathtaking views of lush green terraces stretching from the foothills to the coastline. Jatiluwih represents the essence of Bali’s traditional subak irrigation system and organic farming practices.
Taman Ayun Temple
Taman Ayun is located in Mengwi Village, about 18 km north of Denpasar. Known as the royal temple of the Mengwi Kingdom, it’s an outstanding example of Balinese architecture and culture. The temple complex features multi-tiered shrines surrounded by wide lotus ponds, symbolizing the cosmic ocean. With its beautiful gardens and tranquil setting, Taman Ayun is a must-visit cultural site in Bali.
Lake Bratan & Ulun Danu Beratan Temple
Ulun Danu Beratan Temple is a stunning and sacred complex located on the western shore of Lake Bratan in Bedugul, central Bali. This cool highland area is a popular retreat for both locals and visitors from the southern regions. The temple, dedicated to the goddess of the lake, appears to float gracefully on the calm reflective waters, framed by the misty Bedugul mountains—a truly iconic image of Bali.
Bali Coffee Plantation
Bali’s coffee plantations are among the island’s most interesting agro-tourism spots, typically found in the highlands. Local farmers cultivate both Robusta and Arabica coffee, as well as the famous Luwak Coffee—one of the rarest and most expensive coffees in the world. Visitors can enjoy a complimentary coffee tasting session while learning about the traditional roasting process and the island’s coffee heritage.
Jatiluwih Rice Terraces
Jatiluwih Rice Terraces are one of Bali’s most scenic destinations, featuring sweeping views of terraced rice fields cascading down from Mount Batukaru’s slopes. The name “Jatiluwih” comes from the Balinese words jati (real) and luwih (beautiful), reflecting its exceptional beauty. Known for its organic farming practices and traditional irrigation system, Jatiluwih offers a true glimpse into Bali’s rural charm.
