🌾 Tegallalang Rice Terrace

The Tegallalang Rice Terrace in Ubud is famous for its stunning scenery featuring subak — Bali’s traditional irrigation system — which, according to history, was passed down by a revered sage named Rsi Markandeya in the 8th century. Tegallalang forms one of the three most beautiful terraced landscapes in the Ubud region, along with Pejeng and Campuhan villages.

Tegallalang offers breathtaking views of lush rice paddies cascading down the slopes of a green valley. Its elevated roadside location makes it a popular spot for travelers to stop and take photos. Painters and nature lovers are drawn here, while nearby art stalls and cafés offer local artwork and refreshments.

Bali Coffee Plantation

The Bali Coffee Plantation is one of the island’s popular agro-tourism attractions, often located in highland areas. Local farmers creatively cultivate various coffee types, primarily Robusta and Arabica. These plantations welcome visitors to observe the coffee-making process and enjoy free tastings.

The highlight here is Luwak Coffee (Civet Coffee) — one of the world’s most expensive varieties, produced through a natural fermentation process by civet cats. It’s a unique and authentic Bali experience for coffee enthusiasts.

💧 Tirta Empul Temple

Tirta Empul Temple is a sacred spring temple featuring classic Balinese architecture. The complex is divided into three main areas: the front yard, middle yard, and inner courtyard. Visitors will first encounter lush gardens and a stone pathway lined with tropical plants and statues before entering through the traditional candi bentar (split gate). Inside, several purification pools flow with holy water where Balinese Hindus perform cleansing rituals.

🌊 Tegenungan Waterfall

Located in Sukawati Village, Gianyar, Tegenungan Waterfall is one of the most beautiful waterfalls in Bali, standing around 15 meters tall. After descending a series of steps, visitors can swim beneath the waterfall and enjoy the refreshing water. The lush surroundings and the soothing sound of cascading water create a tranquil natural escape—perfect for nature lovers and photographers alike.

🕉️ Goa Gajah (Elephant Cave)

Dating back to the 11th century, Goa Gajah was built as a spiritual site for meditation. The main area lies at the base of a staircase surrounded by art and souvenir stalls. At the bottom, visitors will find a large wantilan (pavilion) and ancient stone carvings. A bathing pool discovered in 1954 features statues of Hindu angels holding pitchers that serve as water spouts.

Inside the shallow cave are three stone idols draped in sacred red, yellow, and black cloths. The cave’s walls are blackened from incense smoke, creating a mystical and ancient atmosphere that reflects both Hindu and early Buddhist influences.
